Scared Shakespeareless (September 25th, 2026)

from CA$15.00

To improvise or not to improvise, that is the question of Scared Shakespeareless! Your favourite half scripted half improvised comedy show is going Shakespeare for the month of September. All scripted scenes will be borrowed from the Shakespeare plays you know and love.

Theatre actors are given real scenes from real plays to learn and rehearse, and they get paired with improvisers who have no idea what scene they’re in for. The two perform their scene together for the first time in front of a live audience to surprising and hilarious results!

When: Friday, September 25, 2026

Location: Silence, 46 Essex St, Guelph

Doors: 7:30PM

Show: 8:00PM - 9:30PM

This month’s cast: Ashley Chabot, Emma Currie, Paul Drotos, Julia Haynes, Cas Knihnisky, Vic Olson-Lamari, Jared Stryker, Kez Vicario-Robinson

Brought to you by wonderful GCF-alum: Rob Lewin & Emma Currie - with support from the Guelph Comedy Festival.

Scared Scriptless is inspired by UCB’s long-running Gravid Water.

FREE IMPROV JAM! Calling all improvisers! Scared Scriptless is running a free post-show improv jam!

Just show up and put your name in the bucket to play! All experience levels are welcome. Only want to watch? That's great too!

The doors for the jam will open 15 minutes after Scared Scriptless ends, to let the audience exit and give the producers a moment to turn over the theatre. The aim is to start the jam by 10pm. After that, we improvise until the break of dawn (or 11pm-ish, whichever comes first). See you there!

Accessibility notes: The Main Space at Silence is wheelchair-accessible (34" clearance on doors) however there are no automatic doors. There is an accessible all-gender single-stall bathroom with a round knob on the door.

Tickets may also be available at the door as supplies last - if you want to purchase a ticket in advance but don’t have a credit card to make that happen or you want to see this show but don’t have the funds available for a ticket please email fest@guelphcomedyfestival.com and we’ll work it out.

Ticket prices for this show are on a means-based sliding scale. You choose the price that feels right for you. Note that the tickets are not any different, all seats are first come first served. To learn more click here.
